Lotus Lulu the Penguin Geisha at Oceanfest ‘08

Yesterday, on the ocean front in the beautiful sun I set up my first ever solo merchandising tent (well, by “I” I mean Sean set it up..hahaha ) After some mental debate about the cost of purchasing a tent, then the problem finding one this late in the summer, and creating a display came to a close I was all ready to sell my wares to the live public. I had a lotof positive feedback on my lovely hair accessories. Oceanfest Tent Display I was not expecting so many little girls to be drawn to my creations, but it was very endearing to see them. I enjoyed watching mothers and daughters and fathers and daughters put on head bands and look in the mirror together. I loved seeing allt he smiles that my head bands brought out in people. I was particularly touched by the older women who not only complimented my vision and ability, but took my card so that they might contact me during the holiday season for gift ideas for their grand daughters.

I debuted my new orchid and rose hair pins with great feedback and success. I think that wearing a flower in your hair is a timeless fashion and have spent a lot of time sourcing faux flowers that are convincing and beautiful. So much so, that I had more than one person ask me how I preserved my orchids! The head band hero of the day were my butterfly bands. Bright feminine colour was on the minds of buyers yesterday as many of my butterfly bands found new homes on the heads of lovely ladies of all ages. I look forward to seeing them about town!

A deep heartfelt thank-you from me to all those who came by yesterday, to all those who are reading this now and to all of you visiting my Etsy shop. it gives me great joy to put beautiful things in your hands. Misty Feather BandHere is a picture of one of my bands in its new home on the head of one of my nearest and dearest friends - whose support also brings me joy and inspiration. Namaste.

Eye on You BandA girl and her cat are an unstoppable team of creation and destruction. I create, he destroys, I get mad, then I feel bad because he’s a cat and well I have the audacity to work with feathers in our home. I had a few peacock feathers arrive and am anxiously awaiting more along with some parrot feathers (naturally shed - no worries) so that I can begin making feather earring and maybe some matching sets. This weekend marks Oceanfest and the market..so I will be bringing my wares out to the public. I hope for good weather as feather are finicky friends =) My latest headbands are meant to be paired with the cocktail dress to be that ‘wow’ factor and I have been very pleased with the results to date! Autumn Migration Headdress I feel this one stands out (though everyone loves peacock feathers best it seems) this head band is truly a headdress. It is a hat without the fuss and it creates such impact. I love the earth tones of these pheasant feathers. I just think they are heavenly. I really appreciate those who have stopped by and commented - it means the world to me t o know people peer in on my creations and take a moment for my words. I put most of my current work on Etsy, but would happily make something custom for any of you! I think a flower in the hair is an amazing accessory . It’s a classic look that just screams elegance and glamour - This first rose and butterfly creation may be a bit much for some, but I think for the right girl this is what she’s been looking for!
